Lockdown or not – We are still working … just not from the office
These are indeed challenging and extraordinary times. Our cheese is moved daily and sometimes hourly.
Very few of us ever lived in a time when we needed to give so much consideration to matters such as our health, our families, our communities, food + medical availability and supply, our livelihoods, the survival of the economy, etc. both in the short and long term.
At the PIA, we prioritise the health, safety and well-being of our members, employees and all fellow citizens during these challenging times.
Following the announcement by The President of South Africa, Mr Ramaphosa on 23rd of March 2020, enforcing a nation-wide lockdown for 21 days, the PIA has put the following in place:
• Face to face meetings are discouraged with staff, committee members, members and external stakeholders.
Meetings using Facetime, Skype or Zoom are encouraged and all other communication should be done via e-mail or telephonically.
• Our physical office doors will be closing at 15:30 on Thursday, 26 March 2020 as all staff members will work remotely from Friday, 27 March 2020 until Friday, 17 April 2020 (provided there are no further changes announced).
• It will be business as usual – Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 15:30 and we remain committed to ensure that all enquiries are resolved and matters are addressed timeously by staff members during office hours.
• All administration work will continue as normal.
