My name is Bokang Kalembo, and I am writing to express my interest in pursuing experimental training as part of my architectural studies and to inquire whether your company would be open to hosting me for a period of 240 working hours. I am a student at INSCAPE Pretoria, and the Experimental Training forms part of the curriculum and is credit-bearing. I am eager to gain firsthand experience in the field and the work environment and apply the theoretical knowledge I have acquired to real-world projects.
I am not seeking any monetary compensation for this opportunity. Your firm’s work has caught my attention, and I am highly motivated to learn from your team and gain practical experience in the built environment. An experimental training program with your team would be a valuable learning experience for me.
As part of my studies, I have completed coursework in technical drawing practices, design fundamentals, green and sustainability, software application, and business practice management. I have also gained experience working with software tools such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office. I am confident I can contribute to your team and learn from your expertise.
The following are the requirements for the mentor/company:
- For this programme, the student should be viewed as an ’employee’ of the company during their in-service training/’real-life’ participation.
- The Host Supervisor of the practice is required to monitor the student performance and to prepare a short performance evaluation covering the effectiveness of their participation and their status.
- The student hours must be tracked and signed off on by the manager/supervisor. The student is required to complete their experiential in a minimum of 240 hours before the 01 December.
- Experiential Training Host company must commit to hosting the student by completing and signing the Host Contract in the “Host Contract” document attached below. A copy of this contract must be submitted to the Marketing Coordinator whose email address is supplied in the document.
