Water Reticulation and Storage
SANS 3088 and SANS 10252-1

This presentation will first explain the requirement of SANS 3088, which relate mainly to rainwater storage, and in part to details required in the reticulation design, which are aimed at helping to prevent wasteful use of water.
The next section will focus of the recently updated SANS 10252-1 standard.
Although the core of this exercise will be teaching the calculations involved in a full reticulation system, with the provision of an integrated Excel template which will lead the Architect from the mains entry point to the most critical water fitting, the presentation will also provide useful suggested tables which will be much easier use than the published tables, and will aim at teaching a relaxed understanding of the whole concept.
This will include many related facts, ranging from ‘nice to know’ to ‘seriously important’, all of it relevant, and all of it contributing to the architect’s wealth of professional knowledge.
Delegates will not be required to write an examination, mainly because each reticulation system calculation requires several judgement calls. Delegates will, however, be invited to submit an example calculation for comment.
