The SALARY Survey has been done and we are in the process of disseminating its findings. The results will be posted on the PIA Website within the next week. We would like to draw your attention to a few matters: – We received 1228 responses to our survey and sincerely thanked all those who participated. – An alarming 60% of all participants are not members of any Voluntary Association. This is concerning as the work done on behalf of ALL professionals are not supported by 60%. It is also concerning to think that if these VAs no longer exist, there would be nobody doing the extensive amount of work on – behalf of the profession. We’ll be doing another survey soon to explore the cause of this more. – The participation of Students in the survey was less than 1% and thus we are unable to assist with any results relating to salaries paid to students in the industry. – 80% of the results we received were from Gauteng and the Western Cape (64% from Gauteng and 16% from the Western Cape). Please keep this in mind when looking at the survey results. We thank each and every participant once again and trust the results will provide the industry with some valuable information on salaries paid and the viability of the profession to future architectural professionals. |
